Never assume anything is straight.
Then there s be another piece of flashing under the siding that would be bent and run out on top of the pavers.
I am thinking that i will have to remove the sidin.
However in order to get the proper level of the patio to the back door i will have to go above the brick foundation lining into the vinyl siding on the outside of the house.

Always use a string line that is spaced approximately off the wall and follow that.
This means that you can lay the pavers against the concrete of your foundation as it rises from the earth.
If you find your plans require laying pavers against vents siding or other materials choose another patio plan.
A small gap against a wall will never be seen upon completion of project.
Pavers against these areas can cause rotting issues and blocked airflow problems over time.
It ll stand like that for decades and should a repair ever be needed it ll be quick and easy instead of costing thousands and requiring the tear down of much of the patio.
